AWE reports that a 8-1/2" pilot hole was drilled to 1,580 meters and the hole is being prepared for logging at the Tuong Vi-1 well offshore Vietnam. The hole will then be reamed prior to setting 13-3/8" casing above the first of the target zones.

The well is located in the 06/94 block in the Nam Con Son Basin, approximately 400 kilometers from the coastline of Vietnam. The primary target of the well is the oil potential of the Dua Formation sandstones with secondary targets in the Nam Con Son Carbonate and Cau sandstones.
