Atikwa has completed the drilling and casing of it's forth horizontal well targeting Spearfish light oil in the Pierson area of Manitoba. The recently completed 13-23 well is the first of a three well program that the Company has scheduled for the area throughout October and early November. During the drilling of the well bore, the Company encountered good hydrocarbon shows. The well is scheduled to be fraced in the next week and put on production by the end of October. The Company's contracted rig has now moved from the 13-23 location to the second well in the program at 6-24. The 6-24 well was spud last night with surface casing to be cemented in Wednesday. The well is expected to take seven days to drill.
The previous wells in the program continue to show strong inflow characteristics, with the recently completed 14-13 well hitting a high of 128 barrels per day over the last 30 days. The Company is currently in the process of licensing two additional wells in the area, which it intends to drill before the end of the year. With the addition of those two wells the Company will have drilled a total of eight Spearfish wells in the area, five net.
