Mick Clifford served for 24 years in the British Army with 19 years in 22 Special Air Service. He held all the key leadership roles before becoming the youngest Regimental Sergeant Major in the unit’s history. He deployed and Commanded at all levels on some of the most complex and challenging tasks undertaken by Special Forces and for many years he was at the forefront of the selection and training of the officers and soldiers of the Special Air Service. He was awarded the OBE in 2001 and commissioned to Captain in the Regiment.
Mick has considerable first-hand knowledge and experience of working in hostile environments. On leaving the military, he co-founded Phoenix Close Protection and as Managing Director grew the company to be one of the UK’s largest and most successful training companies which was then acquired by Armor Group in 2005. Mick joined Ambrey Risk as their full-time Training Director towards the end of 2012, after a short period as sub-contracted Training Manager.
