On October 2013 ALMACO Group was awarded another major newbuilding contract from COSCO Shipyard for a second semisubmersible of identical scope as the first GM500A design, Axis Nova. ALMACO will deliver Modular Cabins, Food Handling Areas and Public Spaces onboard Axis Vega at the COSCO Qidong shipyard in China.
As with the first order for Axis Nova, ALMACO’s scope for this second semisubmersible to be named, Axis Vega, includes design, engineering, material delivery and installation of 309 Modular Cabins, Galley, Provision Stores and Refrigeration Machinery, as well as material delivery for Public Areas and supervision for all Interior Areas. ALMACO’s delivery area totals 11,500 square meters.
