Aqualis Offshore has been contracted by Aibel to conduct human factors analyses for a number of the EPC contractor’s ongoing projects on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Under the contract, Aqualis Offshore’s risk management specialists will conduct human factors analyses of Aibel’s work on the Snorre Expansion Project, the Dvalin project and the Oseberg Vestflanken 2 project. Contract value is undisclosed.
“Essentially, we will cover the end-user perspective throughout engineering and suggest changes where we see that there is room for misunderstanding or improvement. These are highly effective methods of reducing operational risk and removing as many potential safety critical operator errors as possible. We possess specialist knowledge within this field, and we are pleased that Aibel has opted to utilise this to the benefit of both Aibel and their customers – Statoil and DEA Norge”, says Bjørn Håvard Brænden, director – Norway & Europe, Aqualis Offshore.
Aqualis Offshore will mainly be integrated in Aibel’s engineering teams. The work will be executed by Aqualis Offshore’s Norwegian operation.
Aqualis Offshore is a specialised marine and offshore engineering consultancy focusing on the shallow and deep-water segments of the offshore oil and gas industry as well as the offshore wind industry.
