For the second time in one weekend, Italian oil company ENI has had planned work on a terminal for liquefied natural gas blocked by politics, this time in the north of the country.
A planned expansion at Pannigaglia has been scuttled by regional authorities citing “environmental grounds”, while on Friday, BG’s terminal at Brindisi was blocked by the thumbs-down of locals, Thomsan Financial reported, citing Italian newspapers.
BG’s LNG plant at Livorno and Edison’s at Rovigo have official okays.
