Norwegian survey outfit, EMGS, has ordered a sixth oceangoing ship to carry its touted Seabed Logging equipment to oil companies and countries worldwide, the company declared Wednesday.
A yard in central Norway will build the vessel by late 2008, although a seventh ship will be added by that time.
EMGS uses electromagnetic waves to detect oil and gas beneath the seabed, and its success has also fuelled legal battles between Britons and Norwegians over rights to electromagnetic technology.
Seabed logging has been used to confirm or refute prospects garnered from seismic shoots.
