Delivery record broken by Gassco-Spotlight

A total of 262.13 million standard cubic metres (mscm) of gas was transported by Gassco to receiving terminals in continental Europe and the UK on the 14-15 December gas day.

That represents the largest volume of gas exported from the Norwegian continental shelf in the course of a single day.

And the new record could be broken again by the time this story has been publicised, reports Jan Hauge, Gassco’s vice president for product management.

“But not by very much,” he says. “Our production capacity is at virtually full stretch today.” The level of winter gas sales means full utilisation of the transport system operated by Gassco on and from the NCS.

In addition, the company continuously monitors seawater temperture since any reduction in this factor increases its pipeline capacity.
