Offshore marine and engineering consultancy Aqualis Offshore has been contracted by A2SEA to perform engineering consultancy services for its offshore wind farm installation work at the Race Bank Offshore Wind Farm offshore the UK.
Aqualis Offshore’s London-office will provide engineering services including geotechnical and structural site assessments where A2SEA’s Sea Installer jack-up vessel will install the 91 Siemens 6MW wind turbines at the offshore wind farm. Contract value is undisclosed.
“Aqualis Offshore’s team in London has provided services to offshore wind farm developers since the 1990s. We are very pleased that we will be able to support A2SEA on its work on the Race Bank. It is a highly interesting wind farm development,” says David Wells, CEO of Aqualis Offshore, which is part of Oslo-listed Aqualis ASA.
DONG Energy is the operator of the Race Bank Offshore Wind Farm, which is located approximately 16.8 miles off Blakeney Point on the North Norfolk coast and 17.4 miles off the Lincolnshire coast at Chapel St Leonards. The offshore array covers an area of approximately 29 square miles.
