With more than 70% of current world oil production coming from brownfields/ mature fields, the challenge to extend the life of these fields in a cost-effective way is becoming increasingly difficult.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen Section is set to host a presentation in Aberdeen this week, which will see international well flow management company, Expro, discuss the ways in which this challenge can be addressed. Taking place on Wednesday 27 January, John McKay, sales manager, Meters (Europe) at Expro will discuss the need for production optimisation and workover strategies to overcome the environmental, safety and cost related implications of brownfield management.
