Organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the SPE International Heavy Oil Conference and Exhibition, now in its second year, will take place 8–10 December 2014 in Kuwait. Held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Omair, Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, State of Kuwait, the event will focus exclusively on heavy oil, covering the entire range of important upstream to downstream topics.

The opening ceremony will feature keynote addresses by H.E. Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Omair, Emad Mahmoud Sultan, Deputy CEO, North Kuwait, Kuwait Oil Company, and Nathan Meehan

2016 President, Society of Petroleum Engineers. The executive plenary session entitled “Heavy Oil Innovations Beyond Limitations” will focus on the wealth of innovations in key areas which have enabled the industry to achieve significant improvements in the economics of heavy oil production, and operate at higher levels of efficiency in an environmentally-friendly manner.
