The Minister of Electricity and Energy of Arab Republic of Egypt Mohamed Shaker and the Director General of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation Sergey Kirienko have signed an agreement to collaborate on the construction and operation of a nuclear power plant equipped with four NPP units with capacity of 1200 MW each in Egypt.
The agreement was signed in the presence of the President of Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
In addition, a MOU between the Russian Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision and the Egyptian regulatory body for nuclear and radiological safety has been signed in order to facilitate the further development of nuclear infrastructure.
