Asia Petroleum Geoscience Conference and Exhibition

Amidst the skeptical outlook on the current oil and gas price environment, world renowned geoscientists are taking it upon their stride to contribute to a positive outlook in the industry's future. Through over 100 Technical & Poster Sessions, the stage is set for Asia's Premier Geoscience Event, which sets to take place in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur from 12 to 13 October.

"Especially in current low oil price environment, the multi-disciplinary approach has significantly reduced the risk of developing the field while significantly adding to the reserves and thus reducing the cost per barrel of the development ," commented Steven Courteney of Murphy Oil, a Special Session speaker on integrating geoscience with other disciplines.

"Despite the current challenges, uncertainties and budgetary constraints affecting oil and gas exploration, geoscientists should never be afraid and should always be encouraged to speak with passion about the exploration prospects that excited them , " expressed Mike Buck of Salamander Energy, whom will be talking at the Special Session focusing on the challenges and opportunities faced by the oil and gas industry in exploring new prospects especially in South-East Asia .
